We contacted Stephen to assist with our 4 year old Labrador who had been diagnosed as ‘anxious’ and exhibiting reactive behaviour towards other dogs.  In the first instance Stephen conducted a home visit and instantly bonded with Archie, showing a natural empathy and warmth for dogs.  Stephen provided some sound practical advice around tone of voice, body language to assert leadership and demonstrate control as well as use of a simple squeaker as a distraction technique.  We instantly started to see improvements in behaviour such that we could walk Archie round the local park without him growling at other dogs who passed by.

Stephen followed the initial session up with proactive hints, tips, advice via Whats App and we have subsequently had a number of additional sessions including one where Stephen took Archie our for ½ day to work with him independently.  Since training with Stephen we have learnt how to communicate more effectively with Archie, anticipate behaviour (both his and other dogs) and how best to manage those scenarios.  Over this time we have noticed Archie has become much calmer, less reactive and much more responsive to commands.  Stephen continues to check in with us to see how Archie is progressing, and to also provide additional advice and support as needed.

We would highly recommend Stephen to anyone requiring dog training, not only is he an expert in his field, he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with and is passionate about helping you and your dog overcome any challenges you may face.

Appreciate Sirius's training. Basically the training is more focus on the you rather than your pet.

The training covered dog walking, potting, callback, fetch balls, among other little techniques.

There are skills that Sirius is able to use and take the effect immediately but I have to try again and again to get familiar with the pattern, with the dog.

"Absolutely fantastic! I recommend Steve to absolutely everyone I meet. We have two highly driven young ridgebacks, and Steve has not only massively improved our ability to lead them and managed our behaviour, but also shares his knowledge so openly to help us to deeply understand the motivations and minds of our four legged friends. No matter the age or breed, Steve will do a brilliant job, and leave you with a smile on your face looking forward to your next session and with an effective plan between every session. It’s a pleasure to work with someone so knowledgeable who genuinely loves and truly understands animals. Thankyou!!"

"Steve is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He has been very helpful in coming up with different solutions for our 4-year old maltipoo’s barking. I would have no hesitation in recommending Steve"

Steve is a knowledgeable and friendly trainer who has been extremely patient in our training sessions. My 17 month old German shepherd is highly anxious and Steve has been great with providing training methods and tips to ensure my dog feels safe and calm with guests coming over to my house. I would highly recommend the 1:1 class for anyone having trouble with anxious and nervous dogs who aren’t confident in social surroundings. It’s worth every penny and really good value. My family and I are slowly gaining more confidence to walk our dog independently and currently working on walking him to heel! 😁

"Steve was very informative and was able to quickly assess my Renzo (bull terrier with reactive tendencies) and make some suggestions on how to minimise and respond to his anxiety in and outside the home. He was calm, built immediate rapport with my dog and I found the whole experience very helpful. I totally recommend his services.

One of the best investments of time and money I have ever made. In an hour Stephen calmly and patiently took our family through strategies to help our anxious cockapoo to feel safer and calmer. His experience shines out. He used role play to help us practice and gave us instant feedback. He followed up with notes and I know he’s just a phone call away if we need help. And, he’s a lovely fella, which always helps 🤩

Steve is such a great trainer and I can highly recommend him.  He is very calm and explains everything in detail so that you understand the dogs behaviour and what to do to improve it. After only two hour long training sessions we have made great progress and urge anyone who wants a well behaved dog to contact Steve.

Steve is such a lovely person and has an amazing understanding of dogs.He gave us great advise and tips on training our 2 cocker spaniel puppies which has made an enormous difference especially when walking them.I would highly recommend Steve.

Steve gave us and our dog our live's back!!
Our dog had some of the worst "resource guarding" and reactivity behaviours I have ever seen.
We had been through so many "trainers"and "behaviourist"; some of which pumping our dog full of expensive and unnecessary drugs or even recommending having our boy PTS...having never even met him in person.
After just FOUR sessions with Steve, we have our lives back and coming home to our dog is a pleasure, instead of a nightmare. We are still implementing the training methods that Steve taught us, but each day is better and better.
You can tell that Steve cares about dogs and is genuinely proud when they succeed for the first time.
We really cannot thank you enough!!!

We are so grateful to Stephen - what an amazing difference his advice and training techniques have made to our rescue dog, who arrived with us really anxious of the outside world in London. We saw noticeable changes from the first session.Three sessions in and Percy is so much more confident on walks, as are we!
Stephen has given us the tools to help Percy feel safe, so he can focus on enjoying walks, obedience and being his wonderful self - even when there is lots going on around him.I have no doubt that Percy will keep improving and cannot recommend Stephen highly enough for how he has helped and worked with us.

We love working with Steve - such a brilliant experienced trainer.

Bonnie

Really enjoyed working with Steve. He's so calm and clear and encouraging.I feel  much more confident and glad to have the support when I need it.

Marion

Steve has a wonderful holistic approach to training. He looks after you and your dog from the start. Our Labrador puppy Bea is full on and was very bitey and growly at the beginning. We were worried that she might be aggressive but Steve explained that growling was part of playing, not aggression and taught us training techniques to help with this.
Bea loved Steve from the beginning and was basically putty in his hands.
Bea has developed some anxiety issues and again Steve's training has really helped.
Added to this, she has also recently been diagnosed with epilepsy and Steve has been very supportive to us with this and adapted her training accordingly.
I can thoroughly recommend Steve - a caring thoughtful and professional trainer.

Steve knows how to speak dog.i asked him how he has so much knowledge and it turns out he used to be a dog handler! - what more could you want to train your dog?
I had an issue with a rescue dog who had serious separation anxiety.it was making me anxious about leaving her.
First visit Steve taught me how to leave her and how to return. Before she would howl the whole time I was out and for about ten minutes when I returned she would go crazy. The first visit from Steve was the first time my dog was calm both while I was out and when I returned.I have more work to do but I feel like I'm approaching it the right way now and already seeing results.
I would highly recommend.
Thanks so much Steve from Helen & Nero ;)

Steve is a great trainer! I have a lovely Boxer, but unfortunately she was being quite dominant with other dogs (particularly smaller dogs). This was quite a worrisome behaviour since she is  powerful and my wife and I wanted to address this the best way possible.A few sessions, tips here and there and socialising with another dog he was training worked wonders! Now it's all about "rinse and repeat'It's still very much a work - in - progress but it has been quite some improvement! 100% recommended.

Jenny

Brilliant dog training service. Had 3 sessions with Stephen and it’s been really beneficial for the whole family. Stephen is of cause amazing with dogs and although we might never be like that it has been really motivating and fun. Also a few simple tricks were very easy to implement and have made huge difference in our dogs behaviour.

Kirsty

We've had one session with Stephen and first impressions were really positive. We are working with him to help our French Bulldog with his on lead reactivity towards other dogs. He had a great calm and relaxed energy to him and he made us and our dog feel very comfortable. We left feeling confident with some practical tools we can use to help us communicate more effectively with our dog. He didn't overload us as we worked on mastering the basic principles we need to succeed. After the session he immediately shared useful links and has been checking in since.

Siobhan

There are no words for how genuinely incredible a trainer Steve is. We attended a puppy class with our two ridgebacks and he gave us actionable and effective advice, tips and strategies on how to lead and train two excitable, distractable and sometimes hyper-vigilant guarding breed dogs. He listened, encouraged and demonstrated the techniques very clearly, and showed us the true benefit of his experience: he got our 9 month old boy to completely listen to him and engage with him despite an extremely distracting environment. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you - you’ve given us faith that we don’t have difficult dogs that will never listen - we just needed your tools, practice, and experience. We will continue our training sessions with you and are very grateful to have met you!! Shiv

Steve is a true dog whisperer. Connected immediately with Spice, my 2.5 years rescue. Huge improvement and great tips. Spice looks at Steve in admiration.
And he's a wonderful guy too.
Can't recommend enough!

Michele

I have had 3 sessions with Steve and what can I say.  The improvement in my dog’s behaviour is unbelievable and walking with him is now a pleasure and not a chore.  Steve has given me the tools to help me deal with my dog, but more importantly he gave me the confidence to be a pack leader, and this has accumulated in my first dog’s playdate with a greyhound and a spaniel.  I was so proud of myself, and most importantly I trusted my dog and the skills that I learnt from Steve to let this happen.

Thank God I found Steve, I would recommend him to everyone who has a difficult dog or a dog owner who needs help in building their confidence in dealing with any types of dogs.

I can’t wait for my next session.

Bring it on!!!!!❤️❤️😀

Stephen has been exactly what we needed in a trainer. His approach to training is novel, he takes time to understand what we need and what our dog needed. He breaks down training into logical steps that are easily achieved and we didn’t find it daunting.

We have seen a huge improvement in our dog’s recall since we started training with him.

Highly recommend Stephen - he’s the best we have come across till now.

Steve was great with our dachshund, Milo. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Steve is a very caring & patient dog trainer. He helped me with my very young puppy,  however I felt she needed a class of likewise puppies,  but I'm sure I'll be booking Steve again sometime

Client feedback is very much appreciated and helps continually improve on standards. Thank you all so much!
